PGA Jr. League exists to bring communities together through fun, team golf experiences… plus those experiences that transcend golf itself, like friendships that last for years to come or a newfound sense of confidence. What started as an idea penned on a napkin while watching the Little League World Series has grown to more than 60,000 boys and girls on PGA Jr League teams spanning all 50 states in 2019.
How we run PGA Jr. League
Who can play PGA Jr. League?
PGA Jr. League is open to both boys and girls, 17 and under, of all skill levels and abilities.
Facilities can elect to offer 13u and/or 17u teams and leagues. In 13u programs, the minimum age is dictated by the facility and the child must be 13-years-old on or before July 31, 2020 (or December 31, 2020 for the Fall Season). Conversely, 17u programs are designed for children 14-years-old to no older than 17-years-old on or before July 31, 2020 (or December 31, 2020 for the Fall Season).
How is PGA Jr. League played?
During the course of a PGA Jr. League game, teams play four 9-hole matches in a two-person scramble format, reinforcing the team concept and creating a nurturing environment for learning the game. Coaches can also substitute players every three holes, so that all of the golfers on each team can participate.
Every PGA Jr. League player will receive a new PGA Jr. League Game Guide, which explains the format and rules and includes fun comics and games!
